Mackie Osborne grew up in the OC, the daughter of a fisherman. Her obsession with horses, magic and science fiction kept her up nights, reading under the covers for hours. She had many friends growing up, most of whom were furry mammals. When she wasn’t reading she was drawing horses, dragons, space aliens and bats.

She fled the OC for Missouri when she graduated high school with the idea that she was going to pursue biomedical engineering. The adventure lasted about 6 months before she was running back to the west coast for warmer weather and an easier major. Her love of drawing combined with her practical nature lead her to study commercial art and design at California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Art and Design in 1980.

After graduation she went to work in the wonderful world of advertising. She learned many things. After five years in Advertising she left to open her own design firm in 1991. She’s had the opportunity to exercise her talents on everything from advertising, packaging, marketing materials, trade show design, book design and web design; designing for a schizophrenic array of clientele, from doctors, retail clothing stores, architectural firms, museums, galleries, magazines, pet supplies, yoga instructors, private investigators, accounting firms, personal assistant services, marketing and pr firms… for industries from the garment industry, the carpet industry, the entertainment industry, the music industry to the hospitality business.

She brings an intuitive approach to her work. Her desigs have a flair that is immediately recognizable. She applies her own unique perspective on the world to each project she is involved with. It’s clear that she loves her work and has fun making things with images, shapes and typography.

Currently she lives in Los Angeles with a husband and four dogs. She likes to scramble through the brush with her dogs in the Santa Monica Mountains, play with her two ancient printing presses and practice as much yoga as possible.
