De La Soul

Formed in 1987 and hailing from Long Island, NY, De La Soul consists of members Posdnuos, Trugoy, and Maseo. They are best known for their eclectic sampling, quirky lyrics, and their contributions to the evolution of jazz rap and alternative hip hop subgenres. Their debut album 3 Feet High and Rising has been called a hip hop masterpiece and is the groups biggest commercial success to date. In 2006, De La Soul won a Grammy for their collaboration with the Gorrilaz on the single "Feel Good Inc."
