Kantor L.A.
Niels Kantor is an LA native and life long art collector. Born into the art world he has been continuing the legacy begun by his father, Paul Kantor, since 1994 when he reopened Kantor Gallery as a venue to showcase emerging talent as well as established artists. Since that time he has shown artists ranging from blue chip artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol to emerging, mid-career artists including Kenny Scharf, Shepard Fairey, Atsushi Kaga, Dennis Koch, Justin Lieberman, and many others.
Between 2005 and 2007, Niels partnered with Chelsea Gallerist Zach Feuer on Kantor/Feuer, a joint venture that allowed each to bring new and interesting artists to the Los Angeles area. After ending the brief but successful partnership, Kantor focused on art advising and building his personal collection.
In 2011 Kantor reopened his Melrose Avenue space as Kantor LA, a vintage collectibles store & “pop shop”, carrying limited edition artists prints, rare items from the 50’s & 60’s, amongst many other unique products.
He is happy to be an active part of the thriving Los Angeles art scene.
