Genre: Metal

The swamp metal trio Black Tusk has forged the unmistakable Savannah metal sound into something their own. Formed in the winter of 2005, Black Tusk is Athon on bass, Andrew on guitar and James on drums. The band's triple-vocal attack is reminiscent of their solid background in punk, but all three members of Black Tusk have deep roots in classic metal and rock.

Shortly after their formation, Black Tusk released their first demo, "Demos and the Demons," and has maintained an unrelenting recording schedule. After two self-released EPs, a full-length album named "Passage Through Purgatory" and split EPs with ASG, The Holy Mountain and Fight Amputation, they have begun work on a second full-length, tentatively titled "Taste the Sin," which promises to be their most brutal yet.

In between recording and working on new material, Black Tusk has been busy on the road. The trio has extensively toured the United States and Canada with fellow Savannahians Baroness and Kylesa, as well as nationally known acts Skeletonwitch, Valient Thorr, Deadbird, Weedeater, and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. Black Tusk officially signed to Relapse Records in November of 2009.
