The Scion Music(less) Music Conference featured a panel about the Rise of American Music Festivals featuring Christopher Roberts of NXNE in Toronto, Nathan Carson of Fall Into Darkness in Portland, and (eventually) Sean Carlson of FYF Fest. The three discussed with moderator Matt Sonzala (a veteran of Austin’z South by Southwest) how these multi-day and mutli-stage/multi-venue events are changing the local concert landscape. They touch on subjects including keeping a local element to their festivals, as well as how their respective festivals have developed over the years.
