Publicity can be a key component in taking an emerging artist to the next level of his or her career. For the Publicity in the Music World panel at the 2013 Scion Music(less) Music Conference, we gathered Monica Seide of Speakeasy PR, who works with heavier acts like the Melvins and Baroness; Alexandra Greenberg of the MSO PR, who represents dance acts like Deadmau5 and Krewella; and Graeme Flegenheimer of Enabler PR, who handles indie rock and hip-hop groups like Waxahatchee and Joey Bada$$.
These three experienced publicists have worked with a variety of different types of artists. Here they explained key questions like what their job entails and when a musician should bring in someone to help increase the awareness for their art.
The Scion Music(less) Music Conference of 2013 gathered over 70 experts for two days of panels, workshops and interviews directed towards people interested in expanding their creative possibilities and gaining insights on how the music industry works. Expect more videos from the conference in the coming weeks.
