The Being a Rock Artist in 2013 panel at the Scion Music(less) Music Conference featured Matt Pike of High on Fire, Blake Anderson of Vektor and J. Bennett of Ides of Gemini. Moderator Miles Raymer hit topics including the realities of touring, how to survive as a band and whether a metal band can ever reach the same level of success as their predecessors. Oakland’s High on Fire have been pioneering a heavy sound since the late 1990s, while Vektor and Ides of Gemini are two of the younger bands that are finding the possibilities within the genre, leading to a breadth of experience on the panel.

The Scion Music(less) Music Conference of 2013 gathered over 70 experts for two days of panels, workshops and interviews directed towards people interested in expanding their creative possibilities and gaining insights on how the music industry works. Expect more videos from the conference in the coming weeks.
