Housecore Horror Film Festival - Scion AV

Just in time for Halloween, Scion AV is proud to announce that they will be the presenting sponsor of the first Housecore Horror Film and Music Festival from October 24 to 27 in Austin, Texas.

Philip Anselmo, the notorious singer of Down and Pantera, curated the festival along with true crime author Corey Mitchell. Housecore aims to bring together horror and heavy metal fans for a series of amazing shows and screenings.

Participating bands include legends Down, GwarGoblin and the Melvins, as well as younger bands like Pig DestroyerPallbearer and Whitechapel.

The festival’s film component is just as impressive, with 35mm screenings of Jörg Buttgereit’s Nekromantik, Jim VanBebber’s Deadbeat at Dawn and Coffin Joe’s At Midnight I’ll Take Your Soul.

Additionally, Scion AV will also release two previously unreleased songs from Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals to mark the inaugural Housecore Horror Film and Music Festival kick-off. The first track, “Ugly Mug,” is available for an exclusive stream today via MetalSucks. The digital download is also available now. The second song, “Pigs Kissing Pigs,” will be released and downloadable on 10/24. A limited edition 10-inch of the both songs will be available at the festival.
