Brenmar, NastyNasty, DJ Slink at Scion Streaming Radio

Three of the bass underground’s hottest rising stars—Brenmar, NastyNasty, and Sliink—turn up in this video filmed at Scion Radio’s free event at the Golden Gopher in Downtown LA. Brenmar, who has lived in New York and LA via his native Chicago, started out producing and drumming in the art-punk band These Are Powers. These days, he makes hip-hop and swaggy house music that’s influenced by hip-hop (and R&B). In this video, he talks about his current projects, including producing for Mykki Blanco. San Jose, California’s NastyNasty is revolutionizing the low-end spectrum with beats that lie in the middle of dubstep, grime, electro, breaks, and beyond. He talks to Lloydski of Night People about seeing the light in a drum & bass club. Last but not least is DJ Sliink from Newark, New Jersey, who explains how the ruffneck atmosphere of his hometown gets channeled into Jersey club music.
