Hood by Air has teamed with Scion AV for “MORPH,” a conceptual retail pop-up at the Scion AV Installation space in Los Angeles. “MORPH” is HBA’s first pop-up venture and its opening on Saturday night, May 18, predictably drew a immense and enthusiastic crowd.
Over the past few years the luxury New York streetwear brand from designer Shayne Oliver has become a favorite of musicians, worn onstage and on the streets including acts including Kanye West and Rihanna. HBA’s show during New York Fashion Week this past February was one of this year’s stand-outs and made an industry star of the 25-year-old Oliver.
“MORPH” gives visitors a HBA history lesson, showcasing and selling some of the label’s classic pieces. It also presents the label’s capsule luggage concept collection and feature some new items for purchase.
A$AP Rocky, one of the first artists to rep for HBA and a friend of Oliver’s, came by “MORPH” early on Saturday night to show his support and pose for photos with fans. Other guests included Fade to Mind’s Total Freedom, performance artist and HBA model Boy Child, and Scion AV Installation veteran Levi Maestro.
“MORPH” will be up at Scion AV Installation until June 16. It is located at 7667 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90036.
