California artist Sage Vaughn asks tough questions of nature in his show Life, which wraps up February 9th at the AV Installation art space in Hollywood. At the show opening, Slick Rick Rivera catches up with the artist, who explains why he prefers painting animals to people and the allure of taking a tradesman-like approach to art. A walk-through of the show reveals paintings, photographs, blankets and even a stained-glass window —all of which are on sale to the public through this Saturday. Get ’em while they’re hot!
Plus, make sure to RSVP to the opening party of our next gallery show, Levi Maestro’s Here I Am, There I Go, which happens Saturday, February 23 from 7p-10p. The show documents Maestro’s journey as an artist from 2006 to the present day, from hosting his popular Maestro Knows web TV show to skating to running his own clothing line, STRO. And to guide you on your journey, download a free five-track EP of chill-out music below that comprises the soundtrack to Levi’s MKUSA documentary film. If you can’t make it to the opening, Levi’s show will be up through March 9, 2013 at Scion AV Installation, 7667 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046.
