For the last few years, Punks Jump Up has been sprinkling all your favorite acts with a bit of their magic disco dust. From burning hot remixes of Lykke Li, Chromeo, Miike Snow and Robyn to their original productions for labels like Kitsuné and Klein, this dapper British duo has cracked the formula for dancefloor gold, making tracks that sound new and familiar at the same time. At an exclusive Scion AV event in Los Angeles, Punks’ David Andersson talks to Blu Jemz about how he followed an alleyway from punk rock to disco and the importance of not being retro. He also gives some insight into his production process, explaining why hooks are like Parmesan cheese and how to tell if a track is on point.
